Shane had worked really hard this past year and was rewarded by his company to go on a trip to La Paloma Resort and Spa in Arizona. It was a great trip that spouses were able to attend also! We had great food and I was able to put some faces with names!
We arrived on a Monday and were greeted with an awesome buffet of authentic Mexican food and drinks. Waiting back in our room was some more beer with chips and salsa. Shane was not allowed to eat the salsa since I hoard everything on a trip (such as the small soaps, shampoos, and anything else we can get for free). Who knows were I get that from?!?!
Anyway, The next day was our Jeep excursion in the dessert. We learned soooooo much about cacti and other dessert life. It really was very interesting. We even bought Dax a book about the different animals and it is one of his favorite books. He can already recognize cactus wren, Harris' hawk, snake, bat, and ground squirrel. The afternoon we spent at the pool. We could pick from several different pools and hot tubs or go down the slide!
The next day, we split up and went our different ways. Shane played golf and I went to the spa! Again we spent the after noon by the pool and then got ready for the awards dinner that night! Shane was given a plaque and ring for his accomplishments. We even sat next to the CEO of AutoZone that night! The funniest part was seeing the AutoZone CHEER! I thought that they were kidding at first, but you should have seen all of the grown men standing and shouting the cheer! Not exactly like a Georgia game! We had a wonderful trip and didn't want to come home except to see Dax. Maybe we can go again next year. Thanks AutoZone!
