On Monday, May 18th I had a doctors appointment down near the hospital. Shane picked me up after school and we headed down. On the way I thought I was having some Braxton Hicks contractions, but after being on the monitor in the doctors office we were instructed to go to the hospital. Being as this was two weeks earlier than our due date, we did not have anything with us. My bag was packed but at home and Shane wasn't packed at all. We didn't even have the car seat base in the car. Luckily Anniston took her time and Shane ran home to get everything we needed. My friend Kate came to the hospital and stayed with me while we waited and watched the Bachelorette. I called my substitute and my room mom since our class party was the next day and we had school for four more days. The night went on and my contractions were not that bad. The next morning, they started me on pitocen and broke my water. The part that kinda was bad was my epidural did not work the first time. I tried to keep telling them, and finally they ended up giving me another. Once I got the epidural I went from 5 cm to complete in an hour and a half. Three pushes later, Anniston Clare Mayfield arrived. She was born on a Tuesday just like Dax, she was born at 28 weeks and two days just like Dax, she was born within the same hour as Dax, and weighed 7 lbs. 11oz. just like Dax. I guess that she wanted to be like her big brother!
